Meredith pumped for Team USA

Clemson commit Kier Meredith will be heading out to Houston on Sept. 16 for Team USA workouts as part of the 40-man roster.

“I’m pumped. Hopefully all of my hard work will pay off and I will be named to the final twenty-man roster,” Meredith told The Clemson Insider.

If he makes the 20-man roster Meredith will get to travel to Mexico and play for his country.

“I would stay in Houston for another week after the trials and train. Then after that the team will travel to Mexico and play in the Copabe Pan Am AAA games,” he said.

Meredith will miss a good bit of school for this once in a lifetime opportunity.

“I will miss a guaranteed five days, but if everything goes as planned and I make the twenty-man roster, I will be gone for about three and a half weeks,” he said.

Meredith plans to be in Death Valley for a couple of games this season.

“I will be at the (South Carolina) game and I will be there for a game on my official visit. I’m excited,” Meredith said.

meredithbrooksMeredith was recruited as a football player at one time by the Tigers and is having a good senior season.

“I don’t know exact numbers, but I have four touchdowns in our first three games. It’s going great. My team is 3-0 for the first time in ten years. We have the local game of the week this upcoming Friday and we are rolling,” he said.
