Clemson tied the game at 3-3 in the first quarter when Greg Huegel connected on a 26-yard field goal to cap a 10-play, 57-yard drive which took 2:54 off the clock.

The key play on the drive was an 18-yard pass to Mike Williams on third down and seven from the Troy 47.
