Dabo Swinney and the Clemson program he has built into a national powerhouse are the subject of a story by Jack Ford on the next edition of 60 MINUTES SPORTS.

The profile premieres tonight/Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME on the heels of Clemson’s dramatic win over the previously undefeated Louisville Cardinals last Saturday in South Carolina.

In the profile, Swinney explains that the most important goal is to make the players enjoy what they are doing, hard as it can be.

“Because we work too hard to be miserable…Nobody’s gonna outwork us. Nobody’s gonna be tougher than us. Nobody’s gonna be more driven than us,” he tells Ford. “But we’re gonna enjoy doing it.  And I think that– that the way to do that is you gotta create a great environment, and then, oh, by the way, we’re winning.”

60 MINUTES SPORTS cameras capture that environment over the summer sessions as Swinney and his Tigers prepared to live up to the team’s top-five ranking. Ford also speaks to players.

Linebacker Ben Boulware says Coach Swinney makes what is really a serious business more fun.

“Everyone thinks of college football as a business and it definitely is…if you just watch our locker room video every single game, we’re dancing, celebrating with our brothers, just having a great time….”
