Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables says Syracuse will be the fastest team No. 3 Clemson has played when the two kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in Death Valley.
Venables said the Orange is averaging more plays that anybody they have played to this point. The Orange is averaging 486.8 yards per game. They ran 100 plays in a a 31-17 victory over No. 23 Virginia Tech three weeks ago, while totaling 561 yards of offense.
“We have to practice with a great deal of urgency,” Venables said on Tuesday. “Our guys are used to it. We try to practice that way even with the scouts. We are averaging about 110 (plays) per practice. We are out there for a couple of hours so we are about on pace.”
