Clemson offers in-state prospect

Hopkins (S.C.) Lower Richland 2017 shooting guard Clyde Trapp has been offered by Clemson, The Clemson Insider has learned.

Trapp officially visited Clemson from Thursday to Saturday. He arrived on campus Thursday for Clemson’s exhibition basketball game against Lander, staying through Saturday for the Tigers’ football game against Syracuse. He enjoyed the visit and received the offer at the end of it.

Clemson was one of the schools Trapp included in his top five list that he released via Twitter on Oct. 19, along with Charlotte, Georgia Tech, Rice and South Carolina.

Trapp has officially visited Rice, South Carolina and Charlotte, as well.

The 6-foot-5, 185-pounder also has offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, La Salle, Missouri, South Florida and VCU among others.

Former Clemson standout guard Ed Scott, who also hails from Lower Richland, is Trapp’s AAU coach.

As a junior last season, Trapp averaged 13 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game. Here are some of his highlights:
