Clemson point guard Shelton Mitchell suffered a knee injury in Monday’s practice and will undergo a procedure on Tuesday afternoon.
The Clemson Insider has learned that the procedure today is a scope of the meniscus. There is no timetable on his return.
Mitchell had an MRI Monday night. We are told it was a lateral meniscus tear. He is supposed to have surgery at 12:30 p.m., and they will know more at that time.
Clemson has announced the transfer from Vanderbilt, who was expected to start in Friday’s season opener, will not play against Georgia.
Mitchell injured his knee during non-contact. The sophomore scored 15 points and had five assists in Clemson’s exhibition game with Lander last Thursday.
