Nation's top 2019 guard previews Clemson visit

Hogansville (Ga.) Callaway five-star offensive guard Keiondre Jones is slated to check out Clemson again next month.

Jones, the nation’s No. 1 guard in the 2019 class according to 247Sports, will visit Clemson for the third time on March 4 when the school holds its second Junior Day of the year.

He will be accompanied by a few of his teammates.

“I’m very excited,” Jones said of the visit. “Been waiting a long time (to get back).”

Clemson offered Jones in September, and he attended Clemson’s game against N.C. State a month later. He visited for the first time last summer.

Clemson’s new football operations complex was under construction the last time Jones was on campus, so he’s excited to see it in completed form.

“I’m looking forward to the new facility. I can’t wait to see it,” he said. “I’ve heard and seen great things. I hear it’s the best thus far.”

Jones already owns close to 20 offers as a sophomore, including ones from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, LSU, Miami, Ohio State and Tennessee.

The No. 21 overall prospect in his class by 247Sports said a handful of schools are showing the most interest right now.

“Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, OSU and Clemson,” he said.

Where does Clemson stand with Jones heading into the visit?

“They’re up there,” he said. “Really, really close to the top.”

The 6-foot-3, 285-pounder will also visit Alabama this weekend.
