O’Daniel excited about building a new team

Clemson linebacker Dorian O’Daniel returns as one of the Tigers’ leaders on a defense that ranked eighth nationally in total defense and 10th in scoring in 2016.

The senior totaled 60 tackles last season on Clemson’s way to a national championship, including 10 tackles for loss. He also had 2.5 sacks and six quarterback pressures to go along with one interception.

“It is going well,” O’Daniel said following practice earlier this week. “This is a new team. We have a lot of young guys that are stepping up in new positions and new guys stepping up in new leadership roles.

“It’s exciting building a new team chemistry and seeing who fits where and just rebuilding.”
