Lee glad he has Jackson as a mid-week starter

ATHENS, Ga. — Clemson head coach Monte Lee said it is always good to have a veteran pitcher in the middle of the week who pounds the strike zone and is worthy of weekend starts.

That is what Lee had in starter Tyler Jackson on Tuesday night as the graduate student went 7 2/3 innings, while scattering four hits in the fourth-ranked Tigers’ 4-0 victory over Georgia at Foley Field.

Jackson improved to 5-1 with the win, while the Tigers improved to 25-5 overall.
