Five-star linebacker Owen Pappoe, who has around 40 offers in tow, is getting close to narrowing his recruitment.
The touted 2019 prospect from Loganville (Ga.) Grayson plans to announce his top 10 schools next month.
“I’m enjoying every bit of it man,” Pappoe said of the recruiting process to TCI, “but the time is coming soon to narrow it down and get down to business.”
Clemson joins Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Tennessee as just some of the proud programs lining Pappoe’s offer sheet.
Pappoe named Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Georgia as the schools recruiting him the hardest right now.
What has he heard from the Tigers lately?
“That I need to get back on campus ASAP,” Pappoe said.
Pappoe, who attended Clemson’s game against Louisville in October, said he hasn’t yet set a date for his next trip.
He most recently visited Georgia for one of its spring practices a couple of weeks ago and is slated to go back for the Bulldogs’ spring game on April 22.
Pappoe said he intends to take official visits in the future before advancing toward a decision.
The Tigers look positioned to make his initial cut-down.
“They’re one of my top schools,” Pappoe said. “Powerhouse program. I don’t see them falling off anytime soon.”
Pappoe (6-1, 205) is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the nation’s No. 1 linebacker and No. 3 overall prospect in his class.
