Venables thankful for chance to thank Boulware

Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables served as the keynote speaker at the Anderson Area Touchdown Club’s awards banquet at the Anderson Civic Center on Wednesday evening.

Venables spent the majority of his time onstage talking about Ben Boulware and thanking his former linebacker for his contributions to Clemson.

“What a very unique opportunity,” Venables told The Clemson Insider afterward. “You don’t get enough opportunities to love on your players and tell them how much you appreciate them, let alone with their families being present as well. Wanted to express our gratitude for having a belief in Clemson and coach (Dabo) Swinney and our program, and just for his incredible spirit, his servant leadership, for exhausting his moment, that small vapor called his college experience.”
