Watson talks draft status and more

Two days before the 2017 NFL draft, Deshaun Watson isn’t having any last-minute regrets about his decision to travel to Philadelphia, Pa., and be a part of the NFL Draft Experience and shows on NFL Network and ESPN.

Every year, the draft night free-fall happens for someone in attendance, who has to sweat it out while waiting for his name to be called with cameras in the Green Room zeroed in on him. But Watson isn’t worried about that.

“My dream has always been that Green Room, and this is my once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so I’m going to take advantage of it and go,” Watson said during an interview on the Dan Patrick Show.

And Watson has no reason to worry. The former Clemson quarterback is expected to be a first-round selection on Thursday.

“You hear so many different things, but from all the advice I’ve gotten from each team I’ve visited with or worked out with, they all for sure said I’m going first round,” Watson said. “So, hopefully it stays in that put.”
