4-star RB lists Clemson among top schools

Butler (Ga.) Taylor County four-star running back Lyn-J Dixon named Clemson among his top 12 schools Wednesday night along with Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Louisville, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia Tech.

“I have decided to focus on these 12 schools,” Dixon wrote in a Twitter post. “I would like to thank all the schools that recruited me and gave me the opportunity to play at the next level for them and I would like to thank God for making all of this possible.”

Schools excluded from Dixon’s top group that have offered include Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma and South Carolina. Clemson has not yet offered.

Dixon (5-10, 180) most recently visited Clemson in March after visiting for the Pittsburgh game in 2016. Clemson running backs coach Tony Elliott paid him a visit recently during the spring evaluation period.

As a junior last season, Dixon rushed for 35 touchdowns and nearly 2,000 yards.

He is ranked as the No. 9 running back and No. 166 overall prospect in ESPN’s Junior 300.
