Clemson adds insurance run against UNCG

Clemson added an insurance run in the eighth inning against UNC Greensboro to take a 6-3 lead in Game 5 of the Clemson Regional at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Grayson Byrd began the inning with a double down the left-field line, moved to third base on a sacrifice bunt by Kyle Wilkie and then came home on Logan Davidson’s sacrifice fly to left field. It was Davidson’s third RBI of the game and third in as many innings after he hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in the seventh.

After going scoreless through three innings, the Tigers have now scored in four of the last five.
