The Clemson Insider caught up with Clemson’s latest baseball commit Nick Lamb. Clemson head coach Monte Lee didn’t waste any time offering the pitcher after watching him pitch recently.
“Well I had a visit earlier this week and got to see the school and facilities,” Lamb said. “He told me he’d come watch me pitch this weekend. After the game he asked me to call him and he offered me right then.”
How did Lamb react to getting the offer from the Tigers?
“Clemson was my top school that I wanted to go to and with that said I was very excited to receive the opportunity to play at Clemson,” he said.
Clemson moved in quickly with an offer after the former College of Charleston commit decided top reopen his recruitment.
“With the investigation going on at CofC I decided to open my recruitment back up to see my options and Coach Lee was the first one to contact me,” Lamb said.
What are the strengths of the Palmetto State standout on the mound?
“My ability to throw four pitches for strikes really helps me win games and my velocity has been increasing steadily which will help me at the next level,” Lamb said.
Several other schools contacted Lamb after he reopened his recruitment.
“Other than Clemson I heard from Coastal, UNC, NC State, Ole Miss, Furman and Winthrop,” he said.
