D.J. Reader: ‘It’s always fun being out there with my boy’

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former Clemson defensive tackle D.J. Reader, who is now playing for the Houston Texans, was glad to be back in his home state of North Carolina on Wednesday night, while also being so close to Clemson as well.

Reader not only got to play the first preseason game of the year in front of friends and family, but he also got to play in front of the many Clemson fans that showed up to watch him and his four other Clemson teammates that now play for the Texans.

Reader finished the game with one tackle, but he was excited he got to play alongside his friend and fellow defensive tackle Carlos Watkins in the Panthers’ 27-17 win at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
