SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse struck first against Clemson on Friday night at the Carrier Dome, taking a 7-0 lead on its opening drive thanks to a 23-yard touchdown pass from Eric Dungey to Dontae Strickland.
However, it didn’t take long for the Tigers to tie the score at 7-7. On Clemson’s third play from scrimmage, Tavien Feaster took a handoff and raced 37 yards for a touchdown at the 10:37 mark of the first quarter.
Clemson drove 62 yards on three plays in just 1:07. Feaster’s run was sprung in part by a good block from tight end Milan Richard.
