Tampa (Fla.) Cambridge Christian four-star offensive tackle Richard Gouraige announced via social media on Monday evening that his recruitment is down to two schools — Clemson and Florida.
“First, I want to thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for blessing me with this sport,” Gouraige wrote in a post on Twitter. “I want to thank my family for supporting me with every decision throughout this process. I want to thank my coaches for molding me into the player I am today and helping with this recruiting process. I want to thank all the programs for giving me the opportunity to play for them. After praying and patiently waiting, I’m releasing my top 2 schools.”
Gouraige (6-5, 271) has been a target of both the Tigers and Gators for quite some time. He received an offer from Clemson in July 2016 and most recently visited Clemson for its junior day back in January.
Gouraige has been a frequent visitor to Florida, with his latest trip to Gainesville occurring for Florida’s game against LSU on Oct. 7.
In addition to Clemson and Florida, Gouraige has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, USC and Virginia Tech among others.
Gouraige is ranked as a consensus top-15 tackle and top-130 overall prospect in the 2018 class.
He recently committed to play in the 2018 Under Armour All-America Game.
