Tigers recover from sluggish start

Clemson guard Sleton Mitchell said he thought the Tigers came out flat and were a little down in the first half of Saturday’s 81-59 victory over Samford at Littlejohn Coliseum.

Mitchell got the Tigers (8-1) going in the second half as he scored 16 of his 20 points in the last 20 minutes.

Center Elijah Thomas added 11 points and had 11 rebounds as Clemson outscored the Bulldogs 26-6 over the last 9:29 of the game.

Both Mitchell and Thomas said a speech from head coach Brad Brownell got them going in the final 10 minutes.
