Valdosta, Georgia defensive back Geraldo Orta gave a verbal commitment to the Clemson staff on June 5. Things have changed over the past month for the top safety prospect.
Earlier this month the 6-0, 180 pound defensive back camped at Mississippi State. Other schools have also shown interest over the past month. Geraldo has expressed interest in looking at other schools although he would like to be considered a soft commitment to the Tigers.
The Tigers picked up six additional verbal commitments during the month of June and are building one of the top classes in the nation heading into the fall. With the 2011 class filling up quickly Clemson will insure that they only hold slots for prospects that are firmly committed to the Tigers.
The Clemson staff will continue to recruit Orta, but he is no longer considered a commitment to the Tigers. A number of other top defensive backs are on the recruiting board for the Tigers.
