Trevor Booker Earns Degree

By Staff Report.

CLEMSON, SC – Washington Wizards forward and former Clemson standout Trevor Booker will earn his undergraduate degree in parks, recreation and tourism management on Saturday.  The first-team All-ACC player will not be at the commencement ceremony, but his graduation gives the 2009-10 senior class a perfect graduation rate. Karolis Petrukonis earned his degree in December, while David Potter graduated in May.

“This is one of the main reasons I wanted to come back to Clemson for my senior year,” Booker said.  “It means a lot to have a degree to fall back on if basketball doesn’t work out.”
It has been quite an all-around year for the 6-foot-7 native of Whitmire, SC.  He led the Tigers to their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance in 2009-10, only the second time in school history that has been achieved.  He was named first-team All-ACC at season’s end, becoming the first post player from Clemson named to the first team since Elden Campbell and Dale Davis in 1990.
He concluded his career third in Clemson history with 1,060 rebounds and fifth on the career charts with 1,725 points.  He played and started all 134 games of his career, a Clemson record.
In June, he was the first senior chosen with the No. 23 pick of the NBA Draft.  He was drafted by Minnesota, and then quickly traded to Washington.  He was the seventh first-round draft selection in Clemson history, but the first since Sharone Wright was a top-10 choice in 1994.

The Tigers continue camp as they prepare for the season opener with Georgia Tech. On Friday, the media was allowed to watch some of the practice on Jervey Meadows. Check out some more pictures from (…)
