Clemson verbal commitment Charone Peake visited Clemson Saturday to watch the Tigers first practice in pads.

“I came to see Clemson practice Saturday.  Adam came with me.  It went  good.  They looked pretty good out there,” said Peake.

A couple of freshmen made a good impression on the Dorman standout.

“DeAndre Hopkins did some good things.  Justin Parker did a good job,” said Peake.

Charone was doing his best to start learning the Clemson offense while watching practice.

“I was just watching to see how they are running their routes.  I was trying to learn a little bit about the plays,” said Peake.

The road back to the state championship began last week for Dorman and their All-American.

“We started practice last week.  We had a scrimmage Friday night against Westside.  We beat them pretty bad.  We have another scrimmage on Thursday against Irmo,” said Peake.

The prize recruit was glad to get back on the field.

“It feels good to be back out there.  I have been waiting a long time to get back on the field,” said Peake.

The 5-star receiver has been keeping in touch with a couple of Clemson recruiting targets, including one that plans to announce this week.

“I have been talking with Phillip Dukes.  I also talked with Phillip Ely.  I believe it will be Clemson for Ely,” said Peake.
