Smith on Offensive Line's Progress

By Gray Gardner.

Junior David Smith has emerged as a leader on the offensive line this summer. In the past he’s made himself known for being quite a utility player on the line playing wherever needed.

So far in camp, Smith said he’s played “left guard, left tackle, right guard, and right tackle… pretty much everywhere.” But come game-time he said he will be playing primarily at left guard.

The Greenville native said his position group has been doing well in fall camp.

“We’ve learned a lot and have gotten after it,” Smith said. “We’ve made mistakes but it’s turned out good.”

With just over three weeks until the season opener Smith hopes the progress continues.
