Clemson true freshman Kalon Davis is practicing with the second team an impressive August camp.  The former Chester standout enrolled early in January and that has paid huge dividends. 

When Kalon arrived on campus in January he had a lot of work to do to get to the point where he is ready to play for the Tigers.  Being on campus for spring practice allowed Davis to jump ahead of the other incoming freshmen.

“It helped tremendously.  Right now I can use what I took in the spring and use that,” said Davis.

One of the reasons Davis is now playing with the second team now is because he has dropped a lot of weight.

“I have dropped about 35 pounds,” said Davis.

What is coach Scott telling Kalon about playing this fall?

“Right now he is still deciding. He has a week or two to tell me what the plans are for me,” replied Davis.
