McDaniel Back for a Championship

Clemson senior safety DeAndre McDaniel turned down the NFL draft to come back and lead the Tigers to a championship.  That journey begins on Saturday.  TheClemsonInsider.com spoke one-on-one with DeAndre Tuesday in the Westzone.

“I am too excited.  This is what I have been working for all summer and all spring.  It’s here now so all you can do is buckle up and go get it done,” said McDaniel.

Monday Corico Hawkins challenged his defensive teammates to be the No. 1 rushing defense in the nation.

“He did it.  He came in there and he tried to pickup the team.  He did it like he was a senior.  Every time we hit the field we need to stop the run.  To be the best we have to be able to stop the run,” said McDaniel.

The All-American is confident the Tigers have the talent to be the best.

“We got the talent.  There is no question we have the talent to be the best.  The sky is the limit for this defense if we go out there and do our job,” said McDaniel.

DeAndre and his defensive teammates are eager to hit someone not wearing orange.
