Maxwell: Team's Personality Like Dabo's

Byron Maxwell will get the start at corner for the Tigers Saturday afternoon when they play North Texas.  The hard hitting corner spoke with the media earlier this week.  When asked about the personality of the team Maxwell compared the team to their head coach.

“We are a lot like coach Swinney I think.  We are aggressive, tough, we get in your face.  That is the team personality,” said Maxwell.

Byron is ready to hit someone not wearing orange.

“That is going to be great.  We have been practicing against each other since spring so hitting someone of an opposite color I think it is about time.  I like our guys on offense though but to hit somebody else will feel good,” said Maxwell.

Earlier in the week Corico Hawkins challenged the defense to be the No. 1 in the nation.  Byron liked the challenge.

“I think that was good.  The middle linebacker needs to be a leader even though he is a sophomore,” said Maxwell.

The front seven for the Tigers will allow the secondary to hit a new level this year.

“Yes, that front seven makes our job a lot easier.  We had a lot of pics last year because of our front seven and the pressure they put on the quarterback,” said Maxwell.
