Rally Cats are in full swing now and we are stepping it up a notch! With the first football game underway and the school year really starting to step up, the team is practicing harder than ever to look our best at ALL times! This past weekend was a huge success for us as a team with everything we had going on. The weekend festivities began with the First Friday parade and performance, which were loads of fun and we dancers got to show off our true skills on bowman field while we danced our hearts out to a remix jazz/hip hop dance. Our hard work and determination really paid off when we heard the enthusiastic cheers from all of our friends, family members, and surrounding Clemson community who came out to support us!
The pre-game activities began at 12:30pm on Saturday morning with the excitement brewing for the 3:30pm kickoff! Saturday was the birthday celebration of the Tiger Cub; Jervey Gym was full of young children anxious to meet The Cub, take pictures, and eat some delicious cupcakes. The Rally Cats were fortunate enough to be involved in this celebration and we took lots of pictures and enjoyed spending time with all the children by coloring, laughing and entertaining all the children that came by. Tiger Walk was next on the teams list of pre-game activities, and we all started getting incredibly excited when the two big charter buses pulled up and our very own Tigers stepped off the bus ready to play some football! Tiger Walk led us into the pre-game parade that always seems to pep up the Clemson family and lead everyone into Death Valley to prepare for kickoff!
The game began with a boom, and it kept us dancing every minute! We were also glad that weather held out for us and we actually got to experience a game with NO rain! We are hoping for another “rain-free” Clemson win this weekend when the Tigers take on Presbyterian College at 3:30 pm.
This Saturday the Rally Cats are also hosting a “Be a Cheerleader/Rally Cat for a Day” clinic in the indoor track which begins at 10:30am! This is a very exciting event for our team because, not only does it allow us to reach out to our younger fans and teach them their very own version of “Tiger Rag,” but it is a great fundraising opportunity that helps support us throughout the year! It is not too late to sign up for the clinic, so if any children from the ages of 4-13 would like to participate come to the indoor track at 10:30 this Saturday and register! Following this clinic the Rally Cats will be ready to dance the afternoon away while the Tigers bring home another win! GO TIGERS!
