Career Day for Zimmerman

Dawson Zimmerman had his best day as a Tiger against North Texas.  Zimmerman had six punts for 308 yards for a 51.3 yard average.  That was the fourth best day in Clemson history and the best in 27 years.  He allowed just three returns for a net punting average of 50.8 an all-time Clemson record.  Also Zimmerman’s 79 yard punt was the second longest in Clemson history.

New Storm

For the first time since the Maryland game in 2007 Clemson had a pair of running backs rush for 100 yards.  Ellington had 12 carries for 122 yards while Harper added nine carries for 101 yards.

Parker Moving Up

Kyle Parker has played in only 15 games, but has 22 touchdown passes.  That moved Kyle into a tie for eighth place with Steve Fuller.  Charlie Whitehurst holds the Clemson record with 49.

Swinney Now 14-8 With Tigers

With the 35-10 win over North Texas Dabo Swinney moved to 14-8 as head coach of the Clemson Tigers.  If the Tigers can defeat Presbyterian his 15-8 mark will match former head coach Tommy Bowden’s record after 23 games.  The best 23 game record for a Clemson coach was the 19-3-1 record by Ken Hatfield.
