Clemson red-shirt freshman Rod McDowell scored his first touchdown as a Tiger in Death Valley Saturday. The two yard run early in the third quarter put Clemson up 49-0.
Rod has no problem following behind The New Storm.
“I tell Jamie and Andre and those guys all the time, “You lead, I’ll follow”. When they’re in there making plays it gets me pumped, gets me excited so when I go in, I’m going to make plays,” said McDowell.
The former Sumter standout was pleased with his 9 carry 86 yard peformance. He showed off his speed as well as his moves, reminding some of a former Tigers who wore No. 28.
“Knowing that I got in and executed and made plays makes me confident that I will get some more playing time in the future. I feel like I can compete with those boys at any level,” said McDowell.
