Shaq Anthony, one of the leaders of the Clemson 2010 recruiting class, is doing a diary with TheClemsonInsider.com. In this edition Shaq talks about his visit to Clemson on Saturday, his big win on Friday and much more!
We beat Hillcrest 35-0 this week. We had a lot of fumbles. I think we had six and they got three of them.
I graded out at 94% for the game and got player of the game. I felt I played good, but there is always room for improvement. I was looking at the video and studying it. I am just trying to get better for the next game.
I am trying to improve my run blocking each week. It has really been improving. I am trying to prove some of the analysts wrong. I am showing them that I have been working hard in the weight room and that I am a strong player.
I went to the Clemson game Saturday with two of my teammates, my head coach and my offensive line coach. I had a really good time. The game was kind of boring. Some of the recruits left, but I stayed. My teammates wanted to go in the locker room after the game and see the players. I don’t take it for granted to sit there and watch college football. I know next year I will be playing and won’t be able to sit there and watch.
I enjoyed the visit. I am glad everyone got to play. Everyone got a chance to do well. DeAndre Hopkins really played well. Rod McDowell got in there and showed he is a playmaker. A lot of people under the radar are showing that they want to play.
Dabo told them that he wants to be a program that shows up no matter who they are playing. He wants to play well each week.
I know they have a strong test against Auburn. It is like our team. When we play Greenville it will be a big test, but if Clemson and we play the way we can we will both win.
I talked to Grady Jarrett a little bit at the game. He is a nice guy. He is a really big guy.
