Rally Cat Report

By Georgia Anderson.

This past weekend’s Rally Cat/Cheerleader for a Day Kiddy Clinic was a huge success!  We had a great group of kids of various ages come out Saturday.  It was so rewarding to have the opportunity to see so many girls looking up to you and wanting to be just like you.

The girls were split into groups by age, and after a quick introduction from Coach Kristin, the indoor track was filled with cheerleaders and Rally Cats in the making!  We started off the morning with the cheerleaders teaching the young ones some of our favorite Clemson cheers such as “Orange! White!” and “Let’s Go! Let’s Go Tigers!”.   Next, each group learned a version of Tiger Rag put together specifically for their age.  At the end of the clinic, the girls performed what they had learned for their parents in the indoor track, and then came out into the end zone with us for a pre game performance in Death Valley!  It was so much fun and we want to thank everyone who brought their kids to participate!

On the sidelines, we were happy to cheer on the Tigers as they won a sweeping victory against Presbyterian.  With a score of Clemson-58 and Presbyterian-21, we sure had our fair share of Tiger Rag.  Each time the Tigers scored a touchdown and the band played, we were dancing away.

This week’s game against Auburn will be a good one I’m sure.  I hope lots of you fans will be making it down to Auburn for the game, especially since ESPN College Gameday will be there!  Our tigers will want all the fan support they can get I’m sure.  While it won’t take place in Death Valley, and we won’t be there on the sidelines to help rally our Tigers to victory, we’ll still be cheering them on!  Whether it be from the stands at Auburn or simply watching on ESPN, you can bet each of us Rally Cats will be anxiously keeping track of every play of the game in anticipation of a third win for the Tigers!

Don’t forget Tiger fans, Tigerama 2010 “Roaring Horizons” is quickly approaching!  It will take place October 1st in Little John Coliseum at 7pm.  Mark your calendars and purchase your tickets now because you won’t want to miss it!  There will be appearances by Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Football team, performances by Tiger Roar and Take Note, student skits, music provided by the Clemson Tiger Band, a performance by your Clemson Cheerleaders, of course performances by your very own Clemson Rally Cats, and so much more!  We can’t wait to see everyone there!
