Minute with Marlin - Returns to Action

By Marlin Lane.

Marlin Lane, one of the top running backs in the nation, is doing a diary with TheClemsonInsider.com.  In this edition Marlin talks about his return to action this week, his thoughts on the Clemson Auburn game and much more!

They didn’t let me play last week.  I found on last Thursday that I couldn’t play.  It was the doctor.  He didn’t fax the papers saying I could play.

I will be playing this week.  The doctor has approved me to play so everything is good to go.

We play Sanford this week.  They are a good team.  They won the state a couple of years ago.

I can’t wait to get on the field.  Every time I get the ball I want to average like 20 yard.  I am going to be playing the slot and doing punt returns to start.

I watched the Clemson game Saturday night. That was a good game. I like the way we fight. Maybe in a year or two we will be fighting for a BCS game.

I liked the way Jamie and Andre ran the ball and caught the ball.  I really like how they use the running backs.  That is one of the reasons I am coming to Clemson.  I know they are going to use their running backs no matter what.  If you have talent they will put you on the field.  They will let you show your talent as a true freshman.  I want to be part of that.  I can’t wait to have fun up there in South Carolina for my three or four years at Clemson.

I really like the way they throw the ball a lot to the receivers also.  With my size and speed I can play slot receiver as well.  I can beat the defensive backs nine out of ten times.

Cortez had a real big game this week.  He played both ways and never came off the field.  He had like 160 yards.  He is really stepping it up this year.

We will be coming up next week for the Miami game.  I can’t wait.
