Davis Loved Trip to Valley

Clemson verbal commitment Cortez Davis traveled to Clemson to watch the Tigers battle the Canes.

“I got there about eight Saturday morning.  We drove all night to get there.  My basketball coach brought me.  He loved it,” said Davis.

How did he enjoy the game?

“I loved the game.  I loved the trip.  It was a good game even though we came up short,” replied Davis.

The two-way standout believes he can help the Tigers secondary.

“Our secondary needs a little help.  It was a shock to me.  It makes me anxious to get there and help.  I feel like I can come in and help right away,” said Davis.

The crowd impressed the Florida standout.

“I loved the crowd.  There was a lot of fan support,” said Davis.

The Clemson staff was glad to see Cortez visit the Valley.

“I got to talk with all of the coaches.  They were glad to see me.  They said they can’t wait until I get up there,” said Davis.

Cortez had another impressive game Friday night before heading to Clemson.

“We won 27-7 Friday night.  I had five receptions for 41 yards and 1 tackle.  I had five tackles on defense.  They didn’t throw a lot to my side,” said Davis.

The Mainland High standout plans a couple of return trips to the Valley.

“I am going up for the Maryland game with Marlin.  I also want to get back up for the South Carolina game,” said Davis.
