Minute with Marlin

Clemson verbal commit Marlin Lane, one of the top running backs in the nation, is doing a diary with TheClemsonInsider.com.  In this edition Marlin talks about his final games of the regular season, his talk with coach Powell and much more!

We got senior night this week.  We play Deltona.  It means a lot.  This is my last senior night until I get to Clemson. I will have another one at Clemson because I do plan to stay at Clemson for four years, even if I am a top  10 pick.

I had six rushes for 65 yards this week and two touchdowns.  I also had a punt return for about 30 yards.  I didn’t get to carry it much because we won 38-6.  We could have won by even more.

I talked to coach Powell on Sunday.  He is trying to get me up there.  My dad is on vacation for the South Carolina game so I will get up there then.  I told him I want the game films so I can watch them.  Cortez will be coming up with me.

I am going to call coach Rumph tomorrow.  I always call him on Thursday.  We talk about our games.

Cortez is doing real good.  He has like five catches for 95 yards this week and a couple of pass breakups.

I have been talking with Grady.  I need to call him and tell him when I am coming up to Clemson.

We got our report cards on Tuesday.  Cortez and I both made the honor role.

Things are getting more interesting at practice as we get closer to the playoffs.  We need to win this Friday and then next week which we will do.  We haven’t lost a district game in 17 years.  We aren’t going to start now.

My mom is sick right now.  She has been sick all day.  I dropped by to see her today.
