Harper Shines Once Again

Jamie Harper once again had an outstanding performance for the third week in a row since taking over the running back duties after Andre Ellington’s injury.

Harper carried the rock 24 times for 142 yards including a 63 yard touchdown.  Jamie also added three receptions for 39 yards.

The junior running back now has 668 yards on 161 carries this season for an average of 4.1 yards per carry.  Since taking over as the starter at running back Jamie has rushed for 345 yards for an average of 115 per game.  He also is averaging 42 yards receiving.

Jamie was glad the Tigers became bowl eligible for the seniors.

“It means a lot to us.  It is good to get another win for those guys.  Those guys brought us in.  We are going to try to take them out good,” said Harper.

How important was the win for the Tigers?

“We need every win to be honest with you.  It was a great win.  Just showing that we can put everything together.  We were a pretty darn good team so it felt good,” replied Harper.

Jamie knows the Gamecocks will be a confident team when they visit Death Valley.

“Those guys are a terrific team.  They won their conference.  They will come in with their heads held high.  We are just going to go out there and play Clemson football,” said Harper.
