Many recruits were in Clemson to see the big in-state rivalry against the Gamecocks. Charone Peake, the highly rated receiver from Dorman and 2011 verbal commit, like many Clemson fans was disappointed with the results,
“It started out pretty good, but in the end it didn’t go to good for Clemson”
The 6’3” 195 lbs receiver said he ran into a few recruits at the game,
“I talked to Marlin Lane and Virginia linebacker Travis Hughes at the game. We want to make Clemson more explosive next year. We have a lot of good talent coming in.”
What did the coaching staff have to say?
“Coach Swinney talked to us; he said he was glad that none of us had changed our decision about committing to Clemson.”
The focus for the standout receiver now turns to Saturday’s state championship game against Byrnes. Charone said it should be a close exciting game much like their previous matchup this year which was nationally televised on ESPN 2. What was it like making some big plays on national television?
“It was pretty exciting to be on TV, but I just tried not to worry about it.”
