Clemson, SC—Former Clemson All-Americans and teammates Ben Martin and Kyle Stanley hold the top two spots at the midway point of PGA Tour Qualifying in Orlando, FL.  Martin is in first place with a 13-under par score of 201 for the first three rounds, while Stanley is in second place at 204, 10-under par.

The PGA Tour Qualifying tournament is six rounds over two courses at the Orange County National Golf Center.  The top 25 golfers in the 160-player field will earn PGA Tour Cards for the 2011 season.  The tournament concludes on Monday.

Martin and Stanley were teammates on Clemson’s 2008 team that finished fifth in the nation at the NCAA Tournament held at Purdue University.  Stanley was Clemson’s best golfer at that tournament with a seventh-place individual finish, while Martin finished 29th.

Stanley was named a first-team All-American as a freshman (2007) and senior (2009) and won the 2009 Ben Hogan Award, while Martin was named an honorable mention All-American last year  and three-time All-ACC selection.  He helped the Tigers to a #16 finish at the NCAA Tournament at The Honors Course last spring.  Martin was the 2009 United States Amateur runnerup and has played in each of  the last two US Opens.  He is trying to qualify for the PGA Tour in his first year out of school.

Former Clemson All-American Charles Warren is also in good shape after three rounds.  The 1998 Clemson graduate who was inducted into the Clemson Ring of Honor in 2009, is in 10th  place after three rounds with a 207 score, seven under par.
