The news of coach Rumph’s departure from Clemson to Alabama spread quickly Tuesday to Mainland High defensive back Cortez Davis.
Coach Rumph called the top defensive back Tuesday to give him the news.
“I talked to coach Rumph already. He told me today about 30 minutes ago,” said Davis.
Rumph’s departure has Cortez opening up his recruitment.
“Man I am real close with coach Rumph. I don’t know what I am going to do. He was my recruiter. He was a big part of my reason for me going to Clemson. I am going to open things up. I am going to visit Miami this weekend. Then I will go to Clemson. Then I will visit Michigan State and then Alabama,” said Davis.
Coach Cheese has been in contact with Cortez about the news.
“Today I talked to coach Cheese. He told me to do what I need to do. He is coming to see me on Thursday,” said Davis
Does Cortez still consider himself a Clemson commitment?
“As of right now yes. I am going to wait to talk with coach Cheese this week and go from there,” replied Davis.
Man, I am real close with coach Rumph.
