Williams Gives Visit High Marks

Future Clemson defensive end DeShawn Williams loved his official visit to Clemson this weekend.

How did DeShawn enjoy the official visit to Clemson?

Williams: It was real good. I got to see a bunch of my future teammates, Shaq, Lateek, Mike and others. I hung out a lot with BJ. Colton Walls is going to be a good linebacker. I hung out with everyone.

Who came with DeShawn on the visit?

Williams: My mom.

What was the highlight of the visit?

Williams: Friday we checked in at 5 and then we ate dinner. After that we hung out with our host. Saturday we woke up at 8 and toured Vickery Hall. They don’t play with the academics at Clemson. Then we went and saw Nuke’s apartment. That night we went to the banquet. That was the best part of the visit. You got to see all the guys come together. Jarvis told me that time flies by.

How did the visit rate on a scale of one to ten?

Williams: It would have to be higher than a 10. At the games you don’t get to really stay there for that long. It was great to stay over night.

How did your parents enjoy the visit?

Williams: She really liked it. She is real happy I made this decision to go to Clemson.

What did you do Saturday night with your player host?

Williams: We went to his house. I got to know Xavier Brewer real well.

Tell us about the conversations with the coaches?

Williams: I had a visit with coach Swinney and coach Steele. Coach Steele told us we get all of these recruits and we will won’t have enough fingers for all of the rings. He runs a pro style NFL defense. I got to know coach Hobby.

Do you hear about any commitments this weekend?

Williams: I didn’t hear any. I think they have a good chance at Stewart. I think if Florida State doesn’t get Steward we will get him.
