Clemson verbal commitment Shaq Anthony, one of the leaders of the 2011 class, is doing a diary with TheClemsonInsider.com.  In this edition Anthony looks back at his official visit and talks about a few surprises the Tigers may get on signing day.

I really enjoyed hanging out with the coaches and my whole recruiting class.  What stands out is how close we are already.  We all stay in contact.  We really want to change the program.  We talk about how this class will make history for Clemson.

This weekend it felt like we were already there.  It felt like we were ready to enroll and play.  It gets you anxious to get there.  Then you have to come back to reality.  I still have one semester left.  It makes you look forward to getting to Clemson.

I talk a lot with Eric MacLain and DeShawn Williams.  I called Jeoffrey Pagan to welcome him to the family.  I talked to Charone this week.  Daniel plays them in basketball Wednesday night.  I didn’t play basketball this year so I could concentrate on weight training.  If I had played we would be going against each other.  I will talk with him before the game.

I feel like I already have a good relationship with the new coaches.  I clicked with all of them.  I spent time with all of them and my family talked with them.  Coach Morris called me and we talked.  I really enjoyed coach Hobby.  He is a smart coach and is very experienced.  We got along great.  Coach Elliott and coach Morris were talking about the offense and their expectations.

I think the new offense is going to be fast paced.  We will run a lot of no huddle.  We will try to run 80 plays like we ran at our school.  It is different than a power offense, but we will still try to run first.  We will be able to pick what we want to do and it will be spread based.  Most people think it will be wide open all the time, but we will also try to hit people in the mouth.

I can’t wait for signing day.  I have the countdown hung on my wall.  It is only 14 days.  I look forward to finally making it official.  I have been committed for so long I am ready to make it official.  I can’t wait for them to be able to send me the workout plan.

I can’t wait to see who signs with us.  There are going to be some people that will sign with us that will shock some other schools.  I feel we have a great shot with Stephone Anthony and with Tony Steward.  We may have a shot with Ray Drew if his official goes well this weekend.
