Anthony Close to a Decision

5-star linebacker Stephone Anthony is just days away from making a final decision on his college destination.  Last weekend the Under Armour All-American visited Virginia Tech.

“The visit went real good.  I had a chance to get up there and talk with everyone.  It was good for my parents to get up there and see what they think about it.  I have been to these places before, but the official visit lets my parents get to see things.  I feel good about Virginia Tech.  Things went good this weekend,” said Anthony.

This week is the final chance for coaches to make their last in-person pitch for Stephone.

“Florida and Virginia Tech were in today,” said Anthony.

The Gators made their final push for the top linebacker on Wednesday.

“Coach Quinn and coach Durkin came by today from Florida.  They are still in the running.  Coach Quinn has a quiet personality but he is cool once you get to know him.  He is a good coach,” said Anthony.

The prize recruit says Clemson, Virginia Tech, Florida, North Carolina and NC State are all still under consideration.

“I am still considering all five schools,” said Anthony.

The Tigers will make their final push this week when Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney will have his in-home visit with the All-American on Thursday.

“Coach Swinney and some other coaches are coming by tomorrow,” said Anthony.

A decision on his college destination may be final over the next few day.

“I am going to talk with my parents about the decision.  I hope to have a decision by this weekend.  I will wait and make my announcement at school on signing day,” said Anthony.

Stephone still plans to visit North Carolina this weekend for his final official visit.
