Tony Steward, the nation’s top linebacker, announced Wednesday that he will be signing with Clemson. The 5-star linebacker made the announcement in front of family, classmates, coaches and a national television audience. Florida State fans filled the bleachers as Tony told everyone he was going to be a Tiger.
The St. Augustine, FL standout picked Clemson over Florida State. Why did the All-American decide to join Dabo Swinney and the Tiger’s top ten recruiting class?
“Clemson was just the right place for me,” Steward told TheClemsonInsider.com Tuesday night.
Tony’s faith played a big role in his decision to leave the state of Florida and join the Tigers.
“I put the decision in God’s hands. He steered me to Clemson,” said Steward.
The 6-2, 225 pound linebacker is the 23rd member of the Tiger’s 2011 recruiting class.
