6-1, 180 pound speedster Travis Blanks will be one of the top recruits from Florida for the class of 2012.  The Tallahassee, Florida athlete attended Clemson’s Junior Day earlier this month.  Blanks discussed the visit, how the recruiting process is going and what he thinks about the Tigers with TheClemsonInsider.

First of all Travis, how many offers have you gotten so far?

I’d say about 20

Out of those 20 schools which ones are the most persistent in contacting you?

Georgia, FSU, Florida, Notre Dame, Clemson, Auburn and Alabama. I hear from these schools on a regular basis.

After National Signing Day yesterday, how excited are you for next year and signing your own Letter of Intent to play College football?

I’m looking forward to playing football in college, but I’m planning on enrolling in January wherever I decide to go and so I won’t be able to have the normal Signing Day Ceremony because I will already be on campus.

Now tell me a little bit about your visit to Clemson this month, what was that experience like?

I had a great time, I got to tour the West End Zone with Coach Jeff Scott and then we went to the Clemson vs. FSU basketball game. It was a lot of fun.

Who went with you on your visit?

My mom and my stepdad came with me to Clemson and they really liked it too.

Did you get a chance to hang out with any of the players or other recruits?

I got to hang out with Jonathan Meeks and Jadaveon Clowney after the basketball game, they were both really cool.

Did you meet any of the new hires at Clemson? Hobby, Elliot or Morris?

I met with Coach Morris for a little bit but didn’t get to talk to him a whole lot.

Do you plan on coming back to Clemson next football season for any games?

Definitely, I plan on coming back up in the spring for a visit and to watch some of the spring practices and then for a few games next season too.

If you could rate your visit to Clemson from a 1-10 what would you give it?

I’d probably give it a 10 I had a great time.
