Head coach Jack Leggett and the Clemson baseball program hosted its annual Pre-Season Dinner Sunday evening at Jervey Gym.
A full house had a great evening of fun and fellowship. An autograph session and silent auction were held to open to evening. Following a meal, Bob Mahony gave a presentation on the Capital Campaign for Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
Then the fans were in for a special treat as former Clemson greats and Major Leaguers Kris Benson, Matthew LeCroy, Billy McMillon, and Bill Spiers held a panel discussion for the crowd. They talked about their times at Clemson, their MLB careers, and answered some questions.
Following the panel, Coach Leggett introduced the baseball staff and players, spending several minutes highlighting each individual. Expectations are extremely high for the Tigers in 2011 and Leggett asked the fans to come out in force to support the Tigers this spring.
Clemson’s opens the 2011 campaign this Friday at 4:00PM against the Eastern Michigan Eagles at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. With a beautiful opening weekend forecast, fans are encouraged to come out and supported the Tigers all weekend as they start their 2011 Road to Omaha.
