Lawson Waiting for Clemson Offer

One of the priorities for the Clemson class of 2012 will be to add some outstanding defensive ends.  The staff won’t have to go far to find the best in the Palmetto state.

Daniel’s Shaq Lawson has been a frequent visitor to Clemson over the past few years.  Shaq was back on campus earlier this month.

“It was a good visit.  I talked with the whole defensive staff.  I really like the coaches at Clemson,” said Lawson.

Coach Hobby is quickly building a strong relationship with Shaq.

“He is a good coach.  He told me I was bigger in person than he thought,” said Lawson.

The Clemson staff is reviewing film of the top defensive end.  Expect an offer to come before long.

“I sent them my film.  They said they want to look at that and then maybe they will offer,” said Lawson.

The Daniel standout picked up an offer from the Tigers this week.  Which other schools are showing interest?

“I am hearing a lot from NC State, Florida State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and East Carolina,” replied Lawson.

When asked about his current leaders, Lawson responded, “Clemson, NC State and East Carolina are my leaders right now”.

Two of his former Daniel teammates would like to see him running down the hill.

“DeShaun and Nuke work me hard.  They want me at Clemson,” said Lawson.

Don’t expect the top defensive end to wait long if the Tigers offer to make a decision.

“I would like to do something soon,” said Lawson.
