Brad Miller Postgame

By Trey McCurry. caught up with Brad Miller following the Tiger’s victory over Wofford.  Miller discussed Wednesday night’s win and looked forward to the series with South Carolina.

On focusing on tonight’s game with a big weekend ahead:

Obviously we are excited to play one of our biggest rivals, but we did a good job of focusing on this game. Yesterday we were focused on practice and then today on the game. I thought we came out ready to get the win today.

On tonight’s game (not many hits, but a lot of hard hit balls):

That is the only thing we can control. Kieboom crushed the ball his first at-bat and he has been doing that a bunch. That is all you can do. That is baseball. You will have some days that bloops will fall in, but as long as you hit the ball hard good stuff is going to happen. It is definitely good to see that top to bottom.

On his production so far this season:

Honestly my mindset is just on hitting. I’ve moved around some a bit, but I feel comfortable hitting behind anybody. We are so solid one through nine. I think everybody is confident in each other. No matter the combination, we are all comfortable.

On his approach at the plate (on drawing walks and working the count):

I go up there ready to hit a good pitch in the zone. I feel I am at my best when I am up there being aggressive. Obviously any way I can get on is good, but I go up there ready to hit.

On looking ahead to South Carolina:

It is just like any team we play. We are ready to get out there and get after it. What makes this rivalry so good is how good both the programs are. That elevates it and is why so many people are so excited about it. We are ready to get out there and prove to some people some things about this year’s team. We came here to face a good team in a hostile environment and we are excited. Our focus is the same. We are ready to play the same game of baseball. They took care of business last year, but this is a new year. Both of us are different teams. The beauty of baseball is you have to prove it every day.
