Jonathan Bullard has been on Clemson’s radar for a long time now. The Crest (NC) High School standout defensive end has quickly become one of the top players in North Carolina. Bullard has offers from many top schools and recently picked up offers from Alabama and Nebraska. What are the 6’4” 245 lbs. lineman’s current thoughts on Clemson?
“I haven’t been to Clemson in a while but I still talk to Coach Brooks. I am still interested in Clemson; I have been down there three times so right now I am just trying to hit other spots,” said Bullard.
What has Coach Brooks message been to the defensive line star?
“He has just been talking to me and seeing how I am doing. He recently talked to me about my time at the VTO Elite 100 camp,” said Bullard. “I ended up going there and being named the defensive line MVP. I ran a 4.66 and benched 185 pounds, 23 times.”
The North Carolina native has been taking visits to South Carolina, North Carolina and other schools, what makes Clemson different?
“I mean most the schools I have visited, are good schools like Clemson, but I have been able to see Clemson a few times so I’ve got a good feel for them,” said Bullard.
Bullard says at this point he still has no favorites and says his focus is on getting better.
“We have already started our summer workout. I have been running with the speed guys, and hitting the weights hard, working on my explosion.”
Bullard says he is happy with his size, but thinks he can even faster. He says he does not have any plans to visit Clemson in the near future.
