Sarratt, Miller Postgame

By Trey McCurry. caught up with Tuesday’s stars Brad Miller and Justin Sarratt following the Tiger’s 5-0 victory over Furman.

Justin Sarratt:

On his performance tonight:

I just got into a rhythm and was trying to fill up the strike zone. The offense got us on the board early and the defense was great behind me. I did not even realize that a guy did not get past first until the sixth inning. Spencer, Pep, and myself just got into a rhythm and my defense backed me up. After the offense gave us a lead early, my job was just to go out and put zeros up. The guys that came in after me did a great job too. It was just a team effort tonight.

On possibly being a candidate for the weekend rotation:

That would be good. My main goal is to just keep winning and do whatever I need to do.

Brad Miller:

On the team’s performance tonight:

Sarratt went out there and got us going. We were able to get on them early and start the week off on the right foot. Sarratt is just aggressive on the mound with three pitches and he throws them all for strikes. He gets ahead of guys and just puts himself in good spots. Hinson got us going tonight right off the bat with a hit and I was able to square up some balls with guys on base. Anytime you can get a lead early, it really helps everyone out.

On his homer tonight:

I was looking for something up and kept battling. I thought I hit it pretty well and was hoping it would get out. I have had a couple balls that were close and I am glad it just kept carrying.

On his play since coming back from the injury:

Ever since I have been able to get back, I have just been raring to go. I am excited to get back out there with everybody and just being with my teammates. I was not a big fan of sitting and not being able to control much, so I was just pumped to get back on the field.
