Davis Planning Summer Visit

By Keith McGonigle.

The amount of scholarship offers is up over 30 now for defensive back T.J. Davis.  The Godby High School (FL) star is one of the most coveted defensive backs in the country, and says Clemson is a school he will be visiting this summer.

“I plan on visiting Clemson during the summer, I am not really sure when though,” said Davis. “I will be looking what type of environment they have there and how the coaches interact with the players.”

The 6’0” 180 lbs.  cornerback has been talking to Jeff Scott about Clemson via e-mail and facebook, what has Scott’s message been to Davis?

“He just says that I am a great player and have great skills and talents.  He wants me to come to Clemson and help win an ACC championship and national championship,” said Davis.

Davis says he has no favorites but Auburn, LSU, Georigia Tech, and Alabama are recruiting him the hardest.  What will it take for Clemson to separate themselves and when does he plan to announce his commitment?

“They just need to keep doing what they are doing, they are a great school,” said Davis. “Whenever I find the school I want to go to I am going to commit, I do not have a timetable.”

Clemson Safety DeAndre McDaniel is a former Godby star, why does Davis think McDaniel and the so many other Florida players seem to be drawn towards Clemson lately?

“Clemson gives them a new experience, and a new scenery if they want to try something new.”

The Tigers coaching staff hopes that they can make an impression on the highly rated defensive back on his visit this summer.  Defensive back is the one position that the Tigers are hoping to add depth to in 2012.
