Clemson, SC—Forty-eight Clemson student-athletes received undergraduate degrees during two ceremonies at Littlejohn Coliseum on Friday, May 13. The football team and rowing team had the most graduates with eight apiece, while the women’s track program, ranked third in the nation on the track this week, had six.
The Tiger football players receiving degrees on Friday included David Smith and Coty Sensabaugh, players with eligibility remaining who are slated to be starters in 2011. Mason Cloy is a third player on the 2011 roster who will play as a graduate student. Linebacker Brandon Maye, who will play at Mississippi State next year, also earned his Clemson degree on Friday.
Four women’s basketball players earned their diplomas on Friday, including starters Kirstyn Wright, Jasmine Tate, Sthefany Thomas and Bryelle Smith. Men’s basketball players Jerai Grant, Zavier Anderson and Jonah Baize also received degrees.
The women’s track program had six graduates, including two-time ACC Champion Kim Ruck, and NCAA Champion and Academic All-American Patricia Mamona. Stephanie Buffo, an ACC Postgraduate Scholar Athlete also earned her degree.
Four members of the Clemson baseball program, including three who are still on the team, earned degrees on Friday. The active players are Jeff Schaus, Alex Frederick and Addison Johnson. Clemson plays at Virginia Tech on Friday night.
